I've spent all morning installing hacks to vB... gosh that's fun... the script is so complex but yet there is so much functionality that can still be added on and customized.
ive seen forums on the net where the owner enjoyed applying hacks so much, it just ended up a clusterfuck - banks where you could redeem post points, galleries, RPG side game, arcade. I didnt even know it was a forum for about 5 minutes

Yeah I know, some admins get a little too excited over adding additional functionality, that the whole forum experience gets lost. The goal is to keep it clean

I love it!
Which hacks did you install?
And NO, installing hacks is a chore. Writing them is fun.

I did a lot of minor editing myself. Moving columns around, and such little shit. I added the Thread Category / Prefix Hack, tnail preview hack, and some other little ones.

Which was my case. It took me all weekend get it set up in a way that it suited me. Lots of tweaking.
And I am sure that, as time rolls by, I will be tweaking some more.
And Coatsy, yes... vbulletin.org is definitely the prime location to get your hack on.
the dot com is good if you want info on minor tweaks directly from the programmers. They usually answer in less than 30 minutes with a detailed solution to your request. Great service.

100% ignore.
I am sure there is a solution for that as well. I'd really appreciate such a thing...
