Pichunter...Petr...when I started Thumbzilla, I caught a lot of grief from webmasters. Many of them told me that Thumbzilla would go down the tubes within a short period of time. Many of them thought that my toplist idea sucked. You see, on my TGP I had a toplist for trades that updated every 10 minutes...no one had that on a tgp at that time. No one. Now nearly everyone does :-) I had a logo that they said would turn surfers off or scare them away because it was not sexy. In my quest to create quality traffic on a TGP, I had very strict rules for submissions and for traffic trades, and they said those rules were stupid and would prevent people from wanting to submit galleries to me and would prevent webmasters from wanting to trade with me. We get over 2000 galleries submitted to us per day now. Circle Jerk webmasters hated me because I would not trade with them. Well, my main thing with Thumbzilla was a focus on trying to create quality traffic on a TGP. So, my rules were geared toward that goal. One of my rules was that I would not trade with any tgp that used blind thumbs for traffic trades and another was that I would not accept or post any galleries that had any blind thumbs in them. Those rules will never change on Thumbzilla (which of course means that I would not post those galleries you are talking about). And the traffic that I send to the sites that trade with me is traffic that has very good conversion ratios.
Here is my point, Petr: I stuck to my guns no matter what anyone said. I had several new concepts on Thumbzilla when I started that site, and I got criticized immensely and in the harshest of terms by many webmasters. When you have a new concept or idea that is what happens. But I stuck to my guns. And while Thumbzilla is not the biggest tgp, it is not the smallest, either, and it is still around, you know? So...you stick to your guns. You are trying to come up with new ideas, new concepts, and I applaud you for that! Either your ideas will succeed, or they will not, but one thing is for sure: you will never know until you try.
As for the people who think TGPs ruin the internet, well, I can tell you that my sponsors, paysites, have made a hell of a lot of money from Loyal Thumbzilla Surfers. And I did not use one single blind thumb or one single mouseover in the process of sending those surfers to the paysites over the years. I think there is an argument to be made that TGPs are the backbone of the adult internet, as a matter of fact :-) Paysites make a huge amount of money from surfers coming from TGPs or from galleries that are posted on TGPs...it is as simple as that.
