The point is that you will fill that space with more graphics that slows the load.. You're making an ad.. not art.. If you can't sell the site in 800x600 then you shouldn't be designing it in the first place. Designers want to make things all "pretty".. they want more color depth.. they want flash.. they want a bigger page... I used to manage teams of 10+ graphics artists... *chuckle*.. you guys would bring the hardware to a crawl if you had your way and then complain that it was the programmers fault for not writing more efficient code..
