I really admire your work and would love to join in your cause to enlighten the general population on health issues. I am a person who thinks it would be beautiful if there was a therapy that could cure "addicts" overnight. Such a therapy exists.

I have been in contact with several politicians on the matter and one was Mr. Schwarzenegger whom I met before his run for office at L.A. City Hall a while back.

I was speaking that day on "Faradism" or Faradic Aversion Therapy and shared my views with him and Mayor Hahn on the potential this therapy had to curb the drug and alcohol problem.

I explained that 60 to 80% of people in jail are there for drug related reasons and that we could save 60 to 80% of the budget that goes to alleviate this by implementing Faradism in our drug and alcohol rehabs.

Faradism means the use of electricity for therapeutic purposes and is the reason I am reaching out to you today.

I have more personal experience with this therapy than anyone in the world as I have successfully applied my own form of Faradic Aversion Therapy to curb multi addiction and emotioal problems.

I have found this easy by employing a common Tens Unit (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulator) and paring a mild negative reinforcer of a slowly increasing electrical irritation treatment (S.I.E.I.T) to just one hand while using. This included drinking, plus smoking cigarettes and ultimately smoking crack cocaine, marijuana and meth.

I stopped smoking crack in one day after the treatment. I also stopped drinking in two days and cigarettes in three. It took a little longer to figure out how to apply it to meth and marijuana but I conquered that "addiction" also.

Governor Schwarzenegger and Mayor Hahn seemed to like the idea so do most others the problem is its almost unheard of.

I am writing today to see if I can garner some support for the method.
Maybe you could take some time and peruse my web site at www.Faradism.net and see how easy it was for me to implement my own method which unlike others does not involve sudden electrical jolts to the system.

2. Six- and Twelve-Month Abstinence Rates in Inpatient Alcoholics Treated with Either Faradic Aversion or Chemical Aversion Compared with Matched Inpatients from a Treatment Registry - James W. Smith, P. Joseph Frawley and Nyak L. Polissar ABSTRACT. Two hundred forty?nine patients who were treated for alcoholism in an inpatient multimodal treatment program that included aversion therapy were matched post hoc on 17 baseline variables with patients from a national treatment outcome registry. The latter patients received inpatient treatment that emphasized individual and group counselling as the primary therapeutic elements but did not include aversion therapy for alcohol. Six? and 12?month abstinence rates from alcohol and all mood?altering chemicals are reported. The patients treated with aversion therapy for alcohol had higher alcohol abstinence rates at 6 and 12 months (p < 0.01). The abstinence rates from all mood?altering chemicals were higher in the aversion group at 6 months (p < 0.05) but not at 12 months. These comparisons pooled faradic aversion and chemical aversion results. In order to determine whether or not the faradic aversion gave comparable results to the chemical aversion, the two groups were separately analyzed. No significant differences in outcome were found. In fact, the faradic aversion group showed a slight (nonsignificant) increase in abstinence rate.
