Holy Shit! Columbia Extradited Gilberto Rodriguez Orejuela To The US

He was the founder and head of the Cali Cartel. Knocking out about $8 Billion annual in profits during the 90's and controlling 80% of the cocaine market after Escobar got taken out.

Big Score for the US DOJ!

someone will most defiantly be willing to take his place. You take down one of these guys and two more take his place.
In November, you can vote for America's next president or its first dictator.

Yeh, but this is the biggest take down of a head kingpin ever out of Columbia. Bigger then Fabio Ochoa or Carolos Lehder even.

I guess presidential bribes down there only go so far.

Nice. I have about every book, documentary, and video ever produced about Pablo Escobar, directly or indirectly. As evil as he was, the stories are nothing short of fascinating.

Yeh, he told me some hair raising stores when he would go down there to the ranch.

He had to contact the DEA every trip and let them know exactly what was going on so they understood the purpose of the meetings was just legal affairs.

He was actually a very generous person although obviously a cold hearted killer as well. But the people loved him no doubt.

Ironically, I just posted about this elsewhere today. I have a friend from Colombia, and she's given us great insight into the other side of the story. The great majority of the underprivlidged people in Colombia love him to this day, as he was very generous with them.

Escobar spent lots of money on hospitals, schools etc, that's why people loved him, but he was a ruthless murderer (ever heard of the 'second smile')

He robbed from the rich and gave to the poor.
