Watercooling is a hassle :P

water cooling is usually used for overclocking
Im more interested in a stable system than the fastest 'puter on the planet. My computer at work is a 1.4Ghz athlon it's fast enough for 99% of my needs(It needs help when editing videos)
BUT it runs 24/7 the only time it get rebooted is when I either add or remove hardware or when installing software
it never never never hardlocks(now monday it's gonna be fucked totally up now that I have bragged on it)
this is what I want - a computer that I can work with and not have to worry about when it's going to lock up,reboot randomly or fuck up some other way.Comment

It sounds very handy; even better if they include a back-up beer cooler. Now that would be sweet!
Ahem. But seriously. Water cooling? What is it? I am so behind on technology it's not even funny. Generally I tend to think water + computer = bad. Anyone care to enlighten me?Looking for PHP/MySQL solutions? Check out Cyboriginal - custom scripts, installation services and more.Comment

My PC never locks up...
I got a xp 2000 (had to downgrade from 2200 long story). Video rendering is fast -- but if you want to play a game while rendering -- forget it!
I wish there was a way to only allow the program(s) to use a certain percentage of the CPU rather than all they can.<font color="#FFFFFF" size="2" face="Verdana">This thread will self-destruct in 5 seconds.</font><font color="#FFFFFF" face="Verdana"><br>

I'm gonna need watercooling if I see any more of those galleries with the blind thumbs on them.

Actually there is a way - depending on what OS you run. You can download proggies to do this for any OS...but if you're running XP, you can set a limit to the % by doing "level of priority". To do this:Originally posted by eru

1) Right click the taskbar. Go to taskmanager.
2) Tab to PROCESSES
3) Right Click on the application hogging your CPU (the vid editing software)
4) Set priority to low (or whatever you want)
Basically that makes it so whatever you're doing takes precidence over that application. For example, I set SETI@HOME to LOW so that I can run it 24/7. =D
Hope that helped.
