It doesn't matter. I've deposited numerous "expired" checks over the years ... all have gone through fine.
The worse that can happen is it gets returned and one is hit with a return item bank fee(s).
Even when a check is truly "expired", that alone typically will
not get the payer off the hook for the outstanding debt - they can be required to issue a new check (though they may legally deduct administration / bank fees off the amount in some instances) for the outstanding debt.
