How important are trailers on paysite tours?

I'm certainly no pro on the subject, but on my sites I offer one free trailer (usually of the newest scene). I have good ratios from affiliates, too. This seems to work well for me... not sure about others.

All I can say is that all my clients are extremely with the trailers I've provided them and say that they have indeed greatly helped their sites.

What do you guys think of linking the hosted gallery for that scene as the trailer? Meaning every scene in the tour would be linked to the hosted gallery of that scene.

I need to make a hosted gal for each scene anyways so I figured it might help ratios.

I am thinking 1hosted gal per scene on a tour would be giving away the farm but it cant be any worse than a TGP site. lol

i run 3 sites and none of them have trailers.
i will probably add one to www.herfirstfatgirl.com sometime though.
i haven't had anyone complain about me NOT having trailers.

Test it for 1month and compare how much better you convert sales.

I hear adding trailers is HUGE but I dont wanna fuck it all up and add too much.

I would think your incoming traffic source would play a major role in if your site needs trailers more than not.

Example...

If a strong number of surfers are coming to your site via hosted movie galleries, then I think you already satisified their lust for movies. At this point, they're scoping out your site to see the variety of women/scenes.

However, if you're getting traffic from other sources that weren't privy to some samples, they may want to see a sample first. Reasons being: to check your quality, shooting style, etc...

To be safe, I'd include something quick yet enticing on the tour.

Personally, I don't like giving out more than 1 trailer on a tour but there are tons of sucessful sites out there that give out plenty more than me and are making insane amounts of money.

Best bet... keep tweaking and see what works best for you.

A trailer per scene is ok but a full hosted gallery per is going waaay over the line. Don't do it bro.

it depends on the site & traffic, but for the most part, trailers are important and tours should have them. maybe 3 trailers, 1 min each.

I've never had trailers...just a good story and I'm doing fine...But if I did do the trailer thing, I'd go with PornAddict's technique of just having ONE trailer for the newest scene.

A few trailers is good (nothing wrong with more samples)
but i think if you have one real quality
kickass awesome trailer then one will do just fine

We've been beta testing 6 movie sites for the last few months, both with and, without trailers and we have found that adding a 20 second trailer to the tour for each 'scene' has increased joins tenfold.

The problem is, as we found out, making sure that you tease these freeloaders just enough in that 20 seconds to make them want to whip out their credit cards to get the good stuff.

We're currently using a 20 second clip consisting of 3 or 4 shots from each scene but we dont shot the money shot, we show right the way up to 1 second before the guy blows his load then flash the site logo and start on the next shot.

Get the surfer so worked up that they think they are gonna see the cum fly so that when you cut off the clip right before it does, they actually NEED to join your site before they can shoot their load themselves
