Both use crappy power supplies and plastic on their cases. In fact the majority of the Alienware is cheap, easily scratched ABS plastic.
I'd say neither, but I build my own machines....

I got the DELL XPS here, its about the fastest fucking computer i've ever used and its mobile holy shit I highly recommend it.
It is a gaming and video system though. not so great for traveling but i'd prefur power over lightness
