I started back in '98 building Adult Check AVS sites full of banners and upsells to regular paysites.
The first sponsors I signed up for were:
Maxcash
Xpics
and about a dozen others I don't remember the names to.
Within about 1-2 months I quickly saw which ones converted, which didn't and which shaved. I got lucky and was able to tell very quickly.
Long story short, Maxcash made me the most money so I dumped everyone else and pushed them almost exclusively.
It's funny thinking back on it too. My original Maxcash sales came from a Pamela Anderson Full Page Ad that I would place right before my AVS members area or after the warning page on my free sites. So of course a big fat FULL ad page was gonna pull sales better than the dozens of banners thrown around on my sites. I had no idea what I was doing and was just following all the "marketing tips & suggestions" listed, lol.
So basically a Pamalea Anderson full page ad is what fully got me started in the biz. Without that ad I may have stuck with one of the dozens of shitty sponsors that I tried that eventually went under and therefore may have never really figured out the biz.
