I saw then as well as the Thunder Birds when I was a kid.
But the one thing that I will never forget is watching an F16 fly by the stands at Mach 1 100feet off the ground, while at the some time another f16 flew by at 2 or 3 miles per hour above stall speed, which I think is like 95knts.
The guy in the stall was nose up and very fucking high, and then a blur goes by, and then BOOM.

Saw them when I was a kid.
A couple months ago an old buddy of mine called me and invited me over to watch the fights.
We were talking about what we had been doing over the last few years, and I mentioned the stunt plane ride that Steve Lightspeed had set me up with at Internext 2003 in Vegas.
It turns out that one of the guys there is married to the gal that sets up all the Blue Angel shows, and he put me on the phone with her.
Long story short, they do a show every March in El Centro and she told me all I have to do is show up and I will get a ride with one of them.
I guess they have an auction at every show, and people get on for like $50 because people are afraid to go with them. Not me. I will die a happy man if it were to happen.Comment

That's insane.. I knew they got close but I would never have imagined they got that close. I can't wait till the air show here in Daytona now that I'm living here. The Blue Angels and all the other planes in the show fly right down the beach lower than the high rises.In November, you can vote for America's next president or its first dictator.Comment

Not only that but they perform every routine with their hands before they even get in a plane. and they do it before every show.
Seeing these guys as a kid and even shaking one of their hands is one of my clearest childhood memories.
