religion exists because we are helpless souls stranded on the third rock from the sun cursed with the knowledge of our own mortality. organized religion tries to scare us into not killing each other, raping, stealing, etc- not to be savages.
religiosity is nothing more than an obsessive compulsive disorder.
that's my opinion. i'd love to believe - when times are bad I do look to God - hoping he exists and maybe he's listening.
i used to say i was an agnostic - but that's just an atheist usually covering his bases.
