Sure why not. Money shouldn't be a factor at all in your friendships.

Wealthy people can be friends with whomever they choose. The amount of money one has does not decide whom their friends are. The unfortunate reality is that as one aquires money they change friends and displace their old friendships.
With money also come jealousy. IMHO the people who do not yet know the wealthy person have a perception of this person and will not try to become friends.

That guy is so fucking funny.
He creates characters (he does all the voices) then says outragous crap and gets people to call in and argue with him.

I don't think so.
Maybe it will work out at first. But eventually the wealthy will begin to resent the non, and the non will begin to resent the wealthy.
How many middle class or "poor" people do you know that hate the rich? I know many. They feel as if the rich "owe" them something. I don't really understand it.Vacares - Web Hosting, Domains, O365, Security & More - Paxum and BTC Accepted

It's because they're lazy and think that because they're lazy or too stupid to make money, or to even try, they should get something for free.Originally posted by Sly

Funny though how they hate people who make money, but given the chance to make easy money they all have dollar signs in their eyes.
Deep down it's jealousy
Rich people can be friends with the poor and average, it'S the poor and average who end up getting jealousSpam link hereComment

"shouldn't" I agree...
the only factor it should play in is how or what you do while hanging out together...Investor with 5m - 15m USD to invest. Do you have a site or network of sites earning 50k - 200k a month income? True, but you can make a lot of money if you find good "seeds" every now and then.

Can a teacher and a student be lovers? How about a psychiatrist and a patient? Leaving aside the issues of fiduciary and law, there are inherent inequalities in these relationships which places great burdens on the parties.
The same may be true for friendships between poor people and rich people. The poor are inherently needy. The poor people can't pay, so their friends need to pay for them if they go on a trip or go out to eat.
All that said, I think they can be friends; it just takes extra enlightenment and effort to overcome a money gap burden.Comment

Middle class, it is possible, although the middle class can not do everything the rich does, they have a reasonable lifestyle and have enough income in which to spend on things that are not necessities.
Rich and poor being friends would be more difficult...the rich would have to not throw their wealth in their friends face and the poor have to not give the appearance of always begging.
The bigger the income gap/lifestyle differences, the harder the relationshipComment

They'd kill each other over a slice of baloney or a crack rock instead. They'd just make a mess and who would clean up if all the poor people are dead?Originally posted by nofx

it's not the money per se that makes the friendship harder, it's how they got there that puts the real strain on it.
Rich people are rich for a reason. Motivation, being able to think outside the box, being an entreprenuer and having the mind set to get rich. A lot of lower-middle/ poor and working class (always working for someone else) have a totally different mindset in how life works and aren't willing to take risks to get rich.
and that's where you seperate and have less in common. Iv'e had friends who never changed and moved ahead... there's less understanding and similiar ways of thinking.

At a young age sure, but as they grow up I don't think it's that easy. Their lifestyles will be different so it can be a problem. There could also be a jelousy issue. The poorer one could be a leech and stuff like that.Comment
