Price for a good domain name?

It's a solid name they could be using for at least five years and really build a brand around. I'm just out of the loop on the prices these days.
The interested party is a big company, but they have tons of domains, so I'm guessing there's only a certain amount they're interested in paying.
That said, they did ask me what I wanted for the names.
I want to be reasonable without lowballing myself.
Any ideas?

Any other hint as to the domain so you can get some ballpark figures? I agree with Equniox as the key is whether it will be something fleeting or a lasting technology/brand.

That's like asking how long is a piece of string. It depends on the domain, how much type-in traffic, how long its been active, page rank, etc. It could be worth $1 to $100,000. Just do some homework on it.

If you take my word for it that they are great names, what is something you'd pay for a name you like, that you're sure you can get several years use out of?
$5K? More? Less?
$1K? More? Less?

I'm looking for just a rough, ballpark idea of the range people are willing to pay, so I can give them a figure...

Not active at all now...just a name. It's just a better name for their handheld/ipod type stuff than their current one...clever and memorable.
Since they've just started delivering video this way, they could totally brand around these names...
