crontab -e
You gotta know "vi" wich is the unix/linux default text editor
save the cronjob data line(s) you entered
should say new crontab as been installedComment

I was coding some crap one night after being awake for a day and a half and I set up a cron job right before I went to bed. I meant to set it to run once every 24 hours and I had it email me. I set the fucker up for once every minute, went to bed, and was gone all day the next day. My inbox was lovely.

use putty to login to a shell (using ssh)
http://the.earth.li/~sgtatham/putty/.../x86/putty.exe
fill in the hostname and go
then use your login name and password
then on the shell
crontab -e
(you'll go into vi .. so editting is started with pressing i
and exit/save is "escape wq!" sequence)
