Are Bush's Wiretaps a cause for concern?

Mark Kernes has written an excellent analysis of this pending scandal for AVN:

News Analysis: Bush's Wiretaps Cause for Worry

We need to educate ourselves on this issue as we are in the DOJ's crosshairs with their pending obscenity prosecution push....

he only did it for 30 people to my understanding. I dont think that the wire taps are our concern as much as the attitude of Bush that he is thinking above the law to finish off whatever goal he has in creating a place in history

        According to today's Washington Post:

FBI Papers Show Terror Inquiries Into PETA; Other Groups Tracked

FBI counterterrorism investigators are monitoring domestic U.S. advocacy groups engaged in antiwar, environmental, civil rights and other causes, the American Civil Liberties Union charged yesterday as it released new FBI records that it said detail the extent of the activity.

"If a president can break any law he wants, even with the best of motives, I must tell you, that's the way the Iraqis used to be suffering under, and it's not the way we Americans do it," noted journalist Sam Donaldson on "This Week." "What law couldn't he break if he thinks it's important?"
          Scary and true.

Absolutely... and even more when you see his attitude :

              Bush calls leak 'shameful'
              By Joseph Curl

President Bush yesterday called the recent leak about a top-secret U.S. program to spy on suspected terrorists a "shameful act," and rebuked Senate Democrats for their "inexcusable" effort to block renewal of the Patriot Act.
No remorse, no shame ... He is just pissed because he got caught !

Amazing how the lack of sentiments was the reason why people here tought that tookie ( or whatever) should be executed ...
I know that Asspimple is stoopid ... As he says, it is a FACT !

But I can't figure out how he can breathe or type , at the same time ....

If you're willing to give up your freedom in order to have security, you deserve neither.

Dangerous stuff... the guy assumes a lot as a President.

If you stand back and look - "terrorism" has won a battle already when they managed to literally screw the US economy and keep draining it daily. The 9/11 exercise has cost billions in purported "defenses". Truth is, any "decent terrorist" can do what the hell they like anyway and skip the bullshit defenses.

They sure ain't gonna be discussing details of their next mission on a phone line or contacting other "sensitive" partners.

If you cant admit this goes beyond the Bush administration you'll never have the "freedom" you think they're taking away.
