I'm a player.... why, just the other night, I was the green piece in Bolderdash.
And before that, I was playing the "bug your neighbor" card game with family.
I also got to be Rudolph in the "red nosed reigndeer" edition of Monopoly.
I lost all those games... but I was a player in each of them.
