I've been during CES before including one day of it last year. I've been during the hey day of Comdex many times.
It's not that the town is immobile or unusable when at capacity, you just have to have a LOT more patience...
--cab lines from hell at all of the major venues. expect 45-60 minute cab lines at Venetian and Sands late afternoon.
--reservations require connections or greased palms unless you're eating at Fatburger.
--cafes and buffets will have 45-60 minute lines during peaks.
--very few seats at tables open, and expect to play $100 or better at places like Venetian.
Money fixes most of these things.
And that's what I was saying, the guy who is used to being able to do the entire trip for $1000 is SOL.
