we baked and deep fried a turkey this year. the deep fried is always better. peanut oil is the best to use.

I have never tasted deep fried turkey...in fact..up until a couple years ago I had no idea that anyone did that. I'm still trying to figure out how you get the middle cooked without the outside getting burnt/dried out.Comment

you heat the oil up to 180 or so degrees, when you drop the turkey in, slowly i might add. a seal( or a crust, but NOT BURNT) is instantly formed around the entire turkey. That in inself holds the juices in and they will not escape. when you cut into the turkey it is all juices, NOT OIL. another good idea is using injecting marinade. mmm mmmmmmmmI'm still trying to figure out how you get the middle cooked without the outside getting burnt/dried out.
