I almost started crying when I read that. I feel so sad for you. Its something that I don't think you can really understand until it happens to you. My thoughts are with you.
i'm probably late in the thread, but i give you my condolences. i lost a family member last week and i know its the worst possible feeling in the world. stay strong.
As I truly have had a great thanksgiving eve ... you have really opened my eyes to what I should be thankful for. I am truly sorry for your loss. I've never been in love, so its hard for me to understand the power that you 2 shared. However, I do know what un-conditional love means, so for that I wish you nothing but the best and strength through these tough times.
I feel like ive got to know you in some way through your funny and poignant posts.
I am so sorry - my sincere condolences Sarah. I wish you have lots of strength to cope with this in coming months and years. I hope you can eventually find some kind of peace in some kind of way.

I am so sorry for your loss. Deepest sympathy and most embarrassed apologies for ICQing you about business and hanging out while you are grieving. I have not been on the boards much lately. Good luck getting through. I wish I knew a magic make-it-right thing to say, but please know that a lot of people care. You deserve good things. Condolances.
This really brings home how much we should appreciate those around us. How much we should love the life that we have and live it with love. Sounds hokey but I have been close to dying before and it really changes everything. Thankfully I was able to make it through that tough time and be back with the friends I've grown to appreciate even more.
I'm so saddened by your loss yet so glad that you have the courage to reach out to others and share what you are going through. It has definitely made an impact on me.
I'm so terribly sorry to hear about this, Sarah. My thoughts are with you, and I wish you strength in these hard times. Things like this shouldn't happen to good people like you...
Sarah-if there is anything I can do, let me know-ever if you just want a friend to be with you for a while, I'd fly right out to you, hun.
Anything at all. It's alway hard to lose someone you love, but not expecting it makes it so much harder.
Hugs from across the pond, and I will be thinking of you this holiday.

My deepest heartfelt condolences,
what you did afterwards was very touching reminding me of my father's passing 3 years ago, his illness was longer, but I feel now staying with him for several hours, after he died, and talking to him, holding his hand was very theraputic (sp?) and helpful for both of us I think.
Anyway it brings tears to my eyes... sometimes tears can be good, though, what a wonderful wife you are, I wish the best for you in this difficult time
That brought a tear to my eye. I can only wish you and your family my best and positive thoughts. It's great to see everyone pulling for you and I'm sure you know everyone is sending out positive thoughts as well.
I was only in and out the forum briefly yesterday, sorry I missed this.
Sarah, you probably know that as much as we joke and have so many favorites in common that you are my favorite poster at the board. Though we muse about being separated at birth I know any imagining I might attempt at knowing how you're feeling right now couldn't possibly compare to the reality. You can yell at me at mardigras (at) bellsouth.net if you'd like to grab my ear before you're ready to get back to the board. When I go to my mom's house in a bit for Thanksgiving dinner my grandma although elderly and in poor health will be there. I will give her a kiss on the cheek and think of you.
My condolences also. Here's a favourite poem that might help:
Do not Stand at my Grave and Weep
(by Mary Elizabeth Frye)
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight.
I am the starshine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there -- I do not die.
Originally posted by sarah_webinc I just came back from the hospital. I was talking to someone on icq but I only have them as a number so please forgive me that I left you mid-conversation, I am a better buisness person than that.
He came up stairs saying he couldn't breath very well. He gets that sometimes because he has asthma. So, I sat him down and he was sweating and panting and I called 999 (same thing as 911) and between the time I called and the time they came and got him he had told me he loved me and passed out. I gave him mouth to mouth and got him around a little bit and he was in and out all through the ambulance ride and then in the hospital they couldn't figure out what was happening. They told me he would be okay but then suddenly he started to throw up and his eyes rolled back in his head and they made me leave and I knew.
Then I sat in the family area and waited. I knew what the doctor was going to say when she came in so I called his mother and sister and waited. Then the real doctor came in and started giving me medical jargon and I said 'if he dead?' I couldn't stand to listen to the jargon while he was going and I wasn't there. She said that yes, he was going to go and wanted to know if I wanted to see him. I said yes and she asked if I wanted them to clean his body up and I said no because marriage is messy, I am the one that cleaned his leg ulcers out every night..he dessrves for me to see him the way he died. I closed his yes, made them take out the air tube so I could kiss him goodbye and tell him I love him.
I am 28 years old, I am 3,000 miles away from home, the love of my life has just died and I am scared shitless. I have to now go do what I am putting off and call his kids and let them know and then my parents and ruin Thanksgiving for everyone for the rest of their lives.
Tomorrow just remember that most of you do have many things to be thankful for.
