Remember when YahooPersonals and others had trouble over fake profiles?

I wonder if GEO IP ads would amount to the same false advertising. A geo IP ad says these girls live near you, you go to the site, and none do..... big lawsuit?

    Eventually yes.

    Someone will claim false advertisement.
GEO-IP is great for getting sales, but i would hate to be the one sued.

And by this I mean ads that specifically imply this certain girl lives in your town.

Yep, could easily be trouble the way it is used in adult. I'm pretty sure it was intended to show actual local results to people but we all know adult companies are lazy.

I agree with that. I am actually waiting for the first arrest and then suit of the company for the phone porn.

What are you going to sue for? I don't know how the legal system works in other countries - and from what I hear, in the U.S. it's ridiculous - but here you actually have to prove damages.

How much damage is it to you to find out a babe you drooled over in an ad turned out to be from Wisconsin instead of your town? Maybe a sprained wrist and a $19.95 membership fee?

Aw...true but this is the U.S. Where there are lawyers who are constantly looking for Class Action Lawsuits. Round up 100,000 disgruntled members and you now have a case.

Next thing you know you're not only paying out for the false advertising and monetary damages.....but now you're paying out for "emotional damages".

                    False advertisment is false advertisment.

A lawyer puts out a few commercias, gets 1000+ people to represent and then you are fucked.
