I've been hearing a lot about it recently and it has piqued my curiousity. They say that you can download old and hard to get movies as well as old tv shows.

and if you compare it to usenet, it ain't that fast at all
most I get with bittorent is about 100kb if I am lucky...i stay at 500kb/sec continuously with usenet
and if you see it on bittorrent, it is almost guaranteed to be on usenetComment

It's a file sharing program essentially. You use it to download that stuff, and so long as you leave the download open (even after completion)... others can grab that file from you. But it doesn't just grab from a singular source... it grabs from all people who have their bit torrents open.
Try this and grab the B++ version.. http://bittorrent.com/
And then check out http://www.suprnova.org
Once installed the bit torrent recognizes .torrent file extensions in IE... if you click on a movie or tv show or what have you... it'll automatically launch the bit torrent download program.Comment

usually only new stuff works. if its an old tv show not many people are downloading the file because they got it when it came out, so theres not many people that you download it from.I host with VacaresComment

silly me, I went and bought usenet for a month and cant figure out how to use it. I tried bit torrent, but my lord that was sickening slow. I have 4 MB DL, and 550 KBPS upload so it was not a problem on my end.and if you compare it to usenet, it ain't that fast at all most I get with bittorent is about 100kb if I am lucky...i stay at 500kb/sec continuously with usenet and if you see it on bittorrent, it is almost guaranteed to be on usenet
