This type of ad is moving in the opposite direction. How so, you ask?
The girls or "content" used in the geo-ads are not going to be found on your site. So, now, when a customer clicks on the ad, and joins specifically to meet one of the girls in the ad..they are going to be sadly disappointed. In fact, this is no different then the other sites "seeding" the personals with a numbr of dummy personals.
This is completely different then regular ads, which show any number of pretty gals. These ads are claiming that the girls really are located in your home town...and, as I mentioned above..they aren't.
Uusally a great program...but I am disappointed at the direction you have gone with these.Comment

the only positive thing is that i'm not even close to the city it suggested.
It;s getting better but this feature certainly needs some more tunning on IP detecting and proper result pages.
for example, if no matches were found, it would be nice to give the results from cities nearby.
I will start using the textfeeds when more accurate and if available in more languages.

the economics dont fit well.. we pay the models 35% and we pay teh wemasters 20% thats usually at a minimum $1-2 bucks a minute and thats before I even start to make a profit its hard to charge enough $$ on a phone for me to get $4 bucks my cut after they take all their cuts.Originally posted by Sneezy

ok Lars, let's just do these economics with the pay-per-minute consumer and payout rates for the more interesting european countries for cam traffic.
UK 1,50 pounds a minute ---> average pay-out of 1 pound
GER 1,24 euro per minute ---> average payout of 80 eurocents
NL 0,80 euro per minute ----> average payout of 55 eurocents
The performer/model still will get only 35% of the payout rate in question right? And the webmaster gets his/her 20% of that amount. It's the same economics only with smaller amounts.
European models and or amateur cam performers are used to these amounts so it will tier new performers to the concept. This will enable you to offer a cam concept that will convert all cam traffic no matter what timezone the surfer is in.
I'll leave it at this, for this thread is bumped enough for AFF ;-)

And I'm still very curious as to the legality of these new banners. The girls shown do NOT live in the town indicated...although the ads imply that they do. And I'm equally surprised that both Lars and the AFF representative have completely disregarded that this question has been brought up by myself and others in this thread.
As I said before, the one thing that made AFF stand above the others before is that you could trust that most of the profiles (of course, ALL would be better...) were real. This new approach still smells suspiciously like an online version of bait and switch.
And, it makes me question if, in fact, the other profiles on AFF are real...or is their a healthy amount of "seeding" going on there as well. Please say it ain't so...Comment

i use this service across my adult services sites and its alot better to bang up a big list of areas that surfers can click that takes them striaght to a page of contacts in the area they choose
definalty a reason why some whould consider signing up on aff to take advantage of the services provided in the area of there choice
its definalty working better than sending them to a page they may have seen countless times in the past and therefore close without thinkingComment

Actually, I take back part of my post above. As is my usual approach, before I decided to promote AFF a couple of years back, I first joined. I communciated with some females in my area, and found that..yes, they were real...and yes, if we clicked, they were ready to meet. So, I do still feel that AFF is overall offering a good, honest program. I'm just apprehensive about using the geoads, for the reasons listed above.Comment

Well I'll give them more time, but I have yet to see an increase in either click thrus or sign ups. Now I don't send massive traffic like other guys but I would have definatley noticed 3X the sign ups by now. Maybe perhaps I already had a good method of getting SU.Comment
