It was funny watching all teh Bush-lovers FREAK OUT over paul's campaign last year.

Nobody hated Paul like those war-lovin' republican's.

If they'd nominated Paul they would have won easily. But no way the republicans would allow that. Paul is against everything they stood for.

One decent candidate you have had and you voted that idiot in. Ron Paul was the only sincere politician who actually wanted to amend things, not be a puppet of the elite.

Ron Paul is a loon who has no chance of becoming President and never will become President.

Keep beating your drum. Nobody is dancing to it though.

In the 90's I used to think Ron Paul was an eccentric who was relatively harmless and who made some good points on certain subjects. I could have never imagined that he would be able to inflict so much damage on the country by the mainstreaming of his most outlandish and ridiculous viewpoints. I would never have imagined that obvious lunatics like Alex Jones would be given airtime on major news networks or that Elders of Zion type conspiracy mongering would become part of the national discourse in the US.

It is hard to believe how much damage one senile old man can do. It just goes to show how dangerous simplistic populist rhetoric can be with an uneducated and easily manipulated populace.

In the 1800's Germany was considered the jewel of the enlightenment and the most advanced country intellectually in the world. By the 1930s it had slipped into a totalitarian fascist nightmare that will be a stain on its history for a millennium. It only serves to warn what kind of damage a demagogue preaching populist slogans about the evils of banks and commerce can do to even the most civilized country.
