I suppose if your model is a good enough actor/actress she could recreate the look of a non adult woman or man taking pics for their own personal enjoyment or as a gift to their significant other. Am to me seems like a fetish just like any other, a preferance to see something other than generic, mainstream, hardcore. I would guess it has to do with a more easily created fantasy between your on screen model and the surfer, does this mean the best am models are par or sub par in the looks department? Is it the averageness of the model or the use of bad lighting, non professional back drop, household or exhibitionist setting or a combination of both. Is it the knowledge that this model has not been in hundreds of big name productions that does it?

I figure you have to seperate personal opinion and taste from that of your surfer. It seems some people eat up the really "crappy" stuff because it makes it more approachable. But I agree with your comments about how the girl comes across, the illusion is broken if you have a bored model who looks like she is waiting for session to end so she can collect her cash unless the person is into non caring, non affectionate women, hey anything is possible.

So is Amatuer the photographer or the content or a combination of both? Personally I would prefer to shoot only amatures who are going to go pro, find new talent and build their careers with them, but I prefer super model looks and/or great personalities that carry over on film with new or uncommon looks to just anything with T and A. that is because that is what I personally like in women, but how many surfers are like "that one looks good enough"? You are either quantity or quality I suppose
