It's Never Too Late!
Grandpa, 84, retakes uni exams
A South African pensioner is taking his university entrance exams - 66 years after his first attempt.
Timamba Chauke has already taken his maths paper and described it as "a breeze", reports News24.com.
Authorities gave the retired salesman, from Diepkloof, Soweto, extra time to complete the paper but he finished well before time.
The 84-year-old still has to write papers in English, Tsonga, business economics, accountancy and history.
When asked why he decided to take the exams again, he said: "Man, it's because I didn't do too well last time. It was just to see for myself if I could be a good, clever grandpa."
Mr Chauke, who plans to study accountancy and economics next year, claimed to be surprised at the attention he was getting.
He said: "I thought it was just my little secret, but then I saw nothing on this earth stays a secret."
