        Alex, the point im trying to make is this.. yes a man took the lives of several people, but at least he tried to teach people that it is wrong to do so, and that in his efforts he really was effective. I dont condone that he took the lives, and i do agree that it was wrong and deserves a maximum punishment, put should the punishment be death? why? i really do believe there are people who desrve death for there crimes, its just that in this case, i think someone who can do more good alive than dead should not be killed in revenge.

        i honestly think he can do more good alive than dead, when he is dead all it will do is fade faith in people who looked up to him. Faith that these people look towards to stay stright and avoid crime.

                    What you don't understand is that I and countless others beleive this whole thing is a sham. If you were on death row and you knew you had a chacne to live by writing some books, you know sure as hell you would.

                    The fact is i dont want to grant clemcny to a murder, and then have to pay 60k a year to keep him in jail. Based on his use and logic. The 60k we spend to keep him alive can be put to use to actually stop gangs and violence. He serves no good whatsoever alive.

                                    60k a year is nothing to the goverment, do you honestly think that 60k a year is worth more than what he can for children who may join gangs, no offense to you alex, you seem narrow minded and only think of the "now" when its the long term effect he can have as a positive person on all the young minds

                                        Since Tookies and imprisonment and book writings, the number of gangs has still been increasing at a large rate. The number of members and the amount of violece has too.

                                        You have failed to show any positive effect.
                                        And i would ahte to have a convicted murder have any kind of infulence over young minds.

                                        have you read these books, or the people taht he dedicates them to?

                                            what do you expect?? There is no way in the world that his books (or those written by other inmates) could stop the number of gang members to increase. If he convinced a few kids to change their thinking and do something positive with their lives, then it is worth keeping him alive. I'm not sure if he has done that, but I believe he has.
