I've known more than a few that have regretted that decision. As to whether or not they admit it publicly or not...doubtful.
Some people will stay in adult forever, as in any industry. Some however will be forced to leave when the well runs dry, or the cost of entry increases beyond a reasonable capacity to deal. Its better, generally speaking, too avoid burning bridges in the 'professional' world, if only because the fallout may be more than you personally want to deal with.
