I gave a two month notice at my job, which helped me maintain a good relationship with them in case i ever needed to go back, and gave me enough time to save up enough money to make sure i could have about 4 months of bills paid.
Then i quit and devoted all my time to adult. there have been some ups and down, but with my full attention being able to be focused on my work it really helped to get things done. the rest, i guess, is pretty much history.
and i never did go back to that day job. i decided i would do whatever it took to work for myself, and make it work out.

So you have some knowledge of how tricky IT is to get into.. Coming out of college, all you get offered is helpdesk work.. basically, helpdesk=shit. this company im at doesnt hesitate to send me to a class, pay for certs, etc..
of course, they dont know about my other income.. i'm really thinking of taking a weeks vacation somewhere and re-evaluate my priorities..
anyone else have personal experience with this situation? pros/cons?
