I agree 100% Has anyone ever seen what happens to crazy acting fans that run on a field during a football game??

Anyone who stepped on that court as a fan got their just rewards. As for going into the stands..........Not as good an idea.

artest is from queensbrigde, i think he have been through & seen hworse

sure has, and knows how to appropriately defend himself. going into the stands was the only questionable thing, but after he (1) got blasted by Ben Wallace, (2) caged his anger from any retailiation by walking away, and (3) waiting patiently for the game to start (4) then being blasted in the face with a beer cup

i woulda done the same.

Dont agree at all really, but I also dont agree how the fans acted.

I wasnt there, I dont know, but if I was 7 foot tall and some 5'7 guy came running at me, I would laugh before I would take the time and square up my feet and level the little dude.

i'm just shocked about the security, no fan should EVER be able to get on the court, no matter what.

who saw that punk police trying to pepper spray artest...i just have to say the pacers stuck together that was like a bar brawl.. none of the teamates bailed, i just gained ALOT of respect for the pacers

Lots of local coverage on just that fact. They interviewed several security people. All of them said they had it under wraps it was for the most part contained until the fan, out of the blue threw the cup. Once Artest went into the stands, security ran to that area and by then, it was out of control.

I think security just was not expecting the fans and thought they had the situation on the floor contained. Thats what is being said anyways.

hahahahah no shit me too... personally, i've never really liked Artest either, was a damn psycho hot-head when he first got in the league.... but he REALLY toned done since then, but now this, going to ugllllly.

he may be suspended without pay for the rest of the year from this....

I do have to admit, the look on that guy who threw the beers face was priceless when he realized Artest was about to kick his ass. and that black lady in the pistons jersey was tough enough to give artest the bird until he was about arms reach from her. then her attitude changed. Fuck those fans, the more I see of this the more I wish they got their ass kicked even more. It's one thing to heckle the players. It's another to attack them.

Did you see the Jermaine O'neal punch down on the court (most of the cameras were up in the stands) ? He fucking drilled that guy. It was awesome.

That was some pretty intense shit. I would be suprised if that guy that took the O'neil punch didnt suffer a broken jaw or missing teeth after taking that haymaker.

that was the same dude that Artest nailed too, after he got up, thats what he got up to lol...

welp, here it is, in order:

Situation: Pacers are up 15 (or so) points with about 45 seconds remailing in the game. Ben Wallace drives hard down the lane, Artest steps up to defend him and fouls him. Lots of body contact, a good hard play. Questionable becaue it was so late in the game, obviously meant nothing if he scored.


(1) after the play, Ben Wallace charges at Artest and throws a two elbowed shot to the chest/throat/jaw of Artest, throwing him back about 20 ft (obviously wallace is a big boy).


(2) a scuffle breaks out, but nothing out of control. Surprisingly Artest walked away immediately and didn't do shit, while Rasheed broke most of it up. Meanwhile Jackson (of the Pacers) is going ape, ready to fight anyone, but nothing happened.


(3) Ben Wallace still pissed, throws towel at Artest who is now just laying down waiting for everything to blow over.


(4) Artest gets pissed but once again (probably to the shock of everyone) does absolutely nothing.


(5) Artest still waiting/laying on scorer's table, a hard-plastic cup (molded, not a flimsy one) flies in and smacks Artest in the face, beer flies, Artest LOSES IT.


(6) Artest charges into the stands (about 10 rows up) and obviously goes after the wrong guy, basically shoving him down by his face.


(7) another fan grabs Artest, and not only holds him back, but starts PUNCHING him with a full-fist in the back of the head and face. Meanwhile, another person douches Artest with a beer from 2 feet away.


(8) Jackson (also ran up with Artest) punches the guy who douches him with the beer.


(9) Another fan behind both Jackson and Artest, immediately takes a HUGE HUGE swing and nails another Pacers player, a HUGE black guy, and a little Pacers point-guard.


(10) All players get back onto the court, then more fans start going onto the court, for what reason? no idea, but obviously the players felt in danger, and saw it as a threat.


(11) big fat Pistons fan in a Wallace jersey runs up to Artest, Artest pauses, then BLASTS the fan in the face, then gets held back.


(12) Full bottle of beer nails the ref in the head, exploding on impact, at this point, numerous fans are throwin shit at the players, nailing everyone, another individual throws a full chair at Jermaine O'Neil, nailing a bystandered.


(13) The fat that Artest nailed gets back up and starts yelling, Jermaine O'Neil just DRILLS his ass, and knocks him back down.


(14) players getting escorted out by tons and tons of people, an all out brew-ha-ha... and all fans throwing shit, dumping beers on their head as they try to get out.


(15) craziest basketball moment in history...

But let's let the "fans" throw shit and run on the court... that's ok to do.

Man, after reading this thread it seems I have a different opinion than everyone. It's true that the Piston's fan were out of control but it was fucking beer and he's a professional basketball player. You don't go fucking attack a fan. That's just fucking stupid.

It's obvious that he attacked the wrong fan as well. My only regret is that some of the players didn't get clean licks to their faces because they deserved more. At the point where he attacks the fan, all of the other fans should've gang-beat him but of course they are all pussy except for a few.

The white guy in the hat was first trying to stop Artest from hitting the innocent fan but when he can't hold him back he resorts to punching.

The guy Jackson hits is probably a friend of the guy getting attacked by Artest and is only trying to protect the guy. And for that he gets clocked in the face. At least he's not a pussy.

The bigger black guy in the crowd appears to react to the attack too by trying fight back, one of the few non-pussies in the crowd.

As for the fat kid (now rich fat kid), he did nothing but yell something at Artest and he gets hit hard twice. At that point if I were a Pistions fan I would have been yelling too. I'm not sure but I think he's smiling on the way down knowing his pay day is here.

I hope that Wallace is suspended a long while. Artest, O'Neil and Jackson should be suspended maybe even for the rest of the year and charges should be filed. The throwing of the beer is probably assalt by definition, so that fan should get a charge too. But in my opinion the fans were reacting to a player attacking a fan.
