Besides which pioneering is pointless unless you are giving people what they want and Nintendo's problem is simply that they usually fail to do so. About the only thing allowing Nintendo to sell consoles in any kind of number are excellent (albeit 'cartoony') games and good branding of some of their games/characters. Nintendo games may not be cool but they are usually fun. However, that doesn't mean their hardware is any good.
As for the spring launch of the PS3...why on earth would that stop you buying an XBOX360? If you enjoy gaming you'd be daft not to own both

the new nintendo (codename Revolution) will be a good gaming console as long as nintendo doesn't repeat the same mistakes as before. With Sony and Microsoft it's all about the graphic power and the hell with the gameplay and fun of the game. I dont think taking on Sony and MS head-on is a good strategy. I post this question to all: How old were you when you first played nintendo? I was maybe 10 - a kid. There are millions and millions of kids out there who play video games and someone needs to serve this market. Speaking as a businesss-man, nintendo is winning. They are the only profitable hardware manufacturer. They make money on every console, game and accessory they sell. Sony and MS lose money on every console they sell. As I understand it, MicroSoft hasn't made a dime of profit off the XBox. Sony's games division lost money last year.
I don't care how many conversions my links get, if I spend more for the traffic than I make, I've lost and will go out of business. Eventually, Sony and MS will have to give up. I don't think their shareholders will tolerate it forever.Obama Said: "We can absorb a terrorist attack."Comment
