Indeed. I have been doing the text ad for over a year and the photo ads for quite a while. Interestingly enough I asked AFF if I could do the photo ads almost a year ago and was told I couldn't. When I saw you doing it, I was pissed beyond belief. So much so that I stopped using AFF.

Hey bud, you gunna be in Vegas for internext?
You are one of the people Id actually like to meet and have a sitdown with..
Im tired of going to these shows and just being surrounded by paysite sales reps and clueless fratboy style drunks..
Let me know if you are going to the show Id love to have a converation with someone who has a clue about our sector of the biz.. I think we could both get something out of it.

Drinks on me.
Yep, I'm going to be there. I have quite a few people I would like to meet there. We'll get in touch before then I'm sure. I have a ton of things I would like to ask you too.

Guess conversions will answer that pretty soon though.
After hearing several negative reports like this of surfer paranoia I stopped using GeoIP stuff a while back but maybe things have changed so I will give it another shot.
Personally when I see a banner that has been geo targetted to me I feel like it is an invasion of privacy rather than a convenience of offering me "local" content or services but hopefully most surfers don't agree.

I guess I am not the only one that's experienced this. I got a rude email from a surfer wanting to know how I hacked him and found his location. I told him it was a trade secret and to please change his shirt as it really didn't look good on him.
You can embed this into a iframe in your page using the code below and you can Choose background text and link colors to match your page !
Change out the Ref= tag to match your ID !
I am using this ''<iframe src="http://legendarylars.com/promo/camgirlsliveiframe.jsp?Ref=lars&BGColor=ffffff&Tex tColor=000000&LinkColor=red" scrolling="No" align="MIDDLE" width="80%" height="320" frameborder="No"></iframe> '' with my streamray ref code, on my website.
Why is it that when i click on this iframe/link it redirect my surfers and me to AFF ?
i'm not affiliated with AFF. I installed it last night and it converts well. but today its redirecting me my surfers to AFF. Why?

This is a know side effect of some versions of GeoIp and unfortunately it occurs with major POPs (like AOL) because of how their networks are structured.
Do you have any plans of upgrading your GeoIp to a more accrate version?

The one on Reality Cash: Girls Hunting Girls is extremely accurate... nailed my city.
The one in the link above said I lived in a town 10 miles away.
Originally posted by ZoiNk You need a better geoIP list. Got my city off by 250kms or so. A lot of geo targetting does get it right, so your database isn't one of the best.

Yeah, thats a very poor geo script. Hell I'm in San Diego which you'd think it would get right, but everything comes up San Dimas.
"WTF, on google you can find the answer to every question in human history, EXCEPT how to convert cams..

thing is you can't use AFF photos because these are people who signed up to AFF but never agreed to have their photos used in promotion.. This is probably why AFF said u couldn't do it.
Lars's version is using photos from his own cam database (I'm guessing), so he'd own all the rights..
They should just have to set by state.. I would much more likly click on a link that said Girls in Maryland.. rather then Girls in Montgomery Village... thats a tiny little town.. not even where I live.. probebly has maybe 10 girls.. and chances are they are ghettto

It nailed my office in Rockville, AND my ISP in gaithersburg and neither one said "da village"....

Been using different kinds of geo targetting for 2+ years now.
Depending on what your goal is, you can either be in their face or keep the ads subtle but still targetted.
I think this will work pretty darn well. They want to find one here and now. Not someone 2000 miles away and next week
I love the concept and I have been looking for ads like this one for a while, but I don't understand the relationship between AFF and LegendaryLars on this promo. Who pays me for these ads, AFF or Lars? Please explain a little further, I noticed a few people are also confused.

We have 18 webservers and the code to some of the servers got copied with the aff version It is now fixed and is again pointing to the cam girls live link.

You need a PPS account to take advantage of the $50 special, but if you're happy with the revshare, then stick with that. It's up to you! It's probably best to have one of each kind of account, though, so you can keep up with the payout specials.
Originally posted by PR_Rob Does anyone know why you have to use iframes? How do those work with some of the crappier / older browsers like Netscape?
Ive had no problems using <frames> with older browsers. It seems to parse it well. firefox and ie like to do different things to it but nothing critical. I beleive the frame issue is because you need to have the user goto the page instead of doing anykind of get command from the server because then you would just geo track your server.
hope that helps
everyone records ip's with their opt in email lists, why isnt everyone sending out mailings with locale specific text.. even if its just "get a rolex in [vancouver]" im sure that could be used to your advantage.... "[vancouver] sluts getting their tight holes rammed by giant poles" fuck id even click that.

You just might be on to something...
But if I get one more email about a ROLEX, I'm gonna SCREAM!!

this Iframe is pointing to the live cams for now. But they are also currently paying $50 PPS or 20% for life.
as stated before for some people its not accurate but itd about 80% accurate which means MORE SALES
get this stuff up before it gets overused its only going to do well for a few months. At which point everyone and his dog will be using it and the effectiveness will go down.

This is why I don't understand when people say they want to 'buy' a dating site database. How can you buy a database full of profiles of people if all those members did not join your site. Don't think they'd appreciate having their profile and photos on a site they did not agree to be on.
B) It does get a city near my town but when I click the link it's a city of the same name in a different state. Can't see how that would help sign ups.
