About as much as I believe in the bible being something more than a badly written and horribly deciphered history book that really has nothing to do with much of anything.....
if you believe in bible, yes....if not then comes evolution (ape as an ancestors)

People don't magically appear and they aren't made from individual ribs. It's not rational to believe such things. That's just not how people are made.

I've been saying that for years. The first verse of the Bible says that in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Nowhere in the rest of the book does it say to remain exactly as originally created forever.

T_o_t_ally....
when there was the reference to making man from the earth or dirt or whatever, I'm thinking.......OK...didn't aemobas (sp?) come from that primordial soup? <spoken in my best sci fi voice>
but for real...you know what i"m getting at...so the days were equal to 1k years, big woop if the time frame was off....the story could still be sound within the context of scientific understanding...

Well believe it if you want, but this is the logic of it.
Adam & Eva were the creation of God. No mention of anyone else.
They had two sons, Cain and Able.
Who got married.
Who the fuck too, thier sisters or had God been busy on the other side of the hill and did not tell anyone.
The Bible is a collection of Myths and fables, the Jews wrote it while in Babylon as slaves to keep the faith and tribe together. It turned into what it is today by zealots who want to control you.
It's so flawed in science and history to be a joke if it was not a "Holy Book and The Word of God"
Who told you that? The guy burning your neighbor at the stake while he holds a book that says Love Thy Neighbor & Thou Shalt Not Kill.

No, that would be like demanding to know the exact second when an apple becomes ripe... the first "human" would be a totally subjective call; even the most educated opinions could differ by a hundred thousand years .... pick a point in time/evolution where the humanoids finally look/act 'human-enough' to you to consider them the 'same' as we are today ... whatever that point in time is, there wouldn't be just two of them running around. There's never been a clear 'first' of any species; that's the whole point/process we call evolution.

I think the egg came first. I think the chicken evolved from some other bird that was very close to being a chicken, but not quite a modern chicken. Then it laid an egg. When the egg hatched there was a modern chicken which was slightly different than it's chicken-like parents. It would have had some mutation that made it more fit to survive and pass on it's modern chicken genes to create more modern chickens.

I have to disagree somewhat. Even if we can't decided or agree on what is the first modern human, there had to have been a first modern human. Even if it was almost indistinguisable from it's parents. There had to have been some mutation that was the last mutation that went into making us what we are today. The first 2 modern humans probably weren't man and wife though but parent and child.

When Caine killed Abel and was being cast from the Garden of Eden his biggest fear of leaving was those who would harm him. There were obviously other people by that time.
i've figured out the chicken/egg question....the chicken came first, because if the egg came first, where was the chicken that had to sit on it to keep it warm and make it hatch?

I feel you Babe, why does the world have to fight about such issues.....we're here and that isn't going to change, regardless of what anyone believes. Too bad the energy being spent researching and arguing cannot be spent getting along with fellow human beings...
