How do people in DATING deal with waiting on conversions?

Just wondering,

I have been pushing cams for a number of years, and am starting to dabble in dating a bit with a bit of traffic testing.

I would be on a PPS model, so I'm trying to figure out how to configure feedback for the free to paid conversions in terms of time and maturity. How long should you wait to calculate?

It's really nice being able to just secure the free join on dating and let the program convert it, but filtering still makes a large difference in the quality of the free joins (easy one step joins would render less paid conversions than more filtered 2-3 step free joins).

So my question is this, when your doing traffic testing to determine whether dating sponsor x will be a viable option on a pps basis, how long should you wait before tabulating your feedback?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated, I'm getting a bit frustrated.. too hard to tell if I'm breaking even or making profit.. so I'm scared to do really large scale testing.

I've been doing dating for several years, and my advice is do not do PPS with it. Do revshare instead.

If you can send a lot of joins, then send some for a couple of weeks and then negotiatie for a higher percentage.

I've done it both ways, and revshare makes much more money long term with dating traffic.

you always have sound advice.

I have been told wonderful things about revshare for both cams and dating, but I always figured I could just parlay the profits for more sales in a quicker turn around. Patience is something I'm working on, but deep down I know your right.

The thing I'm having trouble on with Dating is trying to tabulate profit. With cams on a pps model everything is instant, so the feedback is much more definitive. Now with dating I'm having to do very detailed tracking, and just when I think I'm breaking even.. more free to paids convert and make me question ALL of the previous traffic tests.

Just a bit frustrated I guess, but thanks for the info.. I WILL keep it in mind, truly.

Give pimpmansion a shot - hornymatches converts great (better than anything) and they have very detailed campaign tracking possibilities including keyword referrals. 75% revshare from the start, no need to send a shitload of traffic first.

This is great advice. I've worked and continue to work with several dating programs over the years and you will always make more $$ on a revshare model (provided of course the sponsor includes renewals / pays out on more than the initial buy in).

Also some things to consider are if the site offer a free trial period, that can also play a factor in the timeline of your return. The majority of conversions come within the first 3 to 5 days, so I would say give it a week to get a good feel, but always keep in mind one good thing about dating is you will still find yourself sill making money on users up to 3 months out or more.

We've found that free's usually convert within 3 weeks.

I've split my personal traffic between percentage & pps. My more expensive "bought" traffic goes PPS and the rest is percentage. This way I have a nice mix.

Overall, percentage/revshare is the better way to go. I see sales all the time for sites I haven't had live in years. But yes it does take patience.

you can throw dating on any site and its converting good.... you cant throw webcams on any site. Its converting very bad.

Yeah,

but unless you have a huge network of sites it's hard to accomplish a lot of volume when you don't focus in on it.

I prefer to go right after something, be it dating or webcams.

I would say normally within a week but ive seen free joins go paid even 3 to 4 weeks later.

I would test with atleast 10 to 20k of quality hits and see what it brings you in 2 weeks time. After that maybe figure in 1 stray sale or 2 tops that you may get down the road from after the test has ended.

Here is a tip for you. Do a % of each rev and PPS. Start with 60 to 70% of your links being for PPS, and the rest for Rev.. once Rev has built up to the point of being equal to PPS, then switch the % of links.

How about pay-per-free, might make a lil less then PPS, which also makes less then revshare but then again, you know the return right away.

50% are single, 100% are horny...

taking 2-3 weeks or so is unfortunately very common. some sooner and some longer... But it's as they get emails, and the emails build up... They have to sign up!

Rev share for sure. Some will leave that card billing for a year or more, and those make up for alot of those that cancel sooner.

New dating sites that aren't over promoted do well as your chance for loosing your cookie to a surfers next click somewhere else is reduced. Having a URL that these surfers can remember to come back to is also a plus...

Definitely agree, their uniques to free joins ratio is absolutely SHIT! It is something like 1:300 for my traffic. Fling is shit too, about the same ratio as AFF.

I get 1:60 at the worst on other dating sites.
