I used this a few times my self, and have one in the closet. But it was never that great of an option.

Honestly. Toss the old videos stuff and start over with straight digital to the PC.

pretty much was the only one around for yrs as well .. very simple .. very reliable .. BUT make sure you don't end up with the OLD ones .. they only captured video .. no sound ..

But i did buy a HP laptop last yr for my wife that has a TV card with it .. you actually plug a coxial cable right into the card and record live TV or video or what ever you can squeeze down the cable .. seemed to work pretty good ..

Teh Pinnacle Dazzle ones work fine for 80 bucks. I use them with some medical software / hardwre for endoscopic procedures for my clients. There is a less expenive one here that works just as well: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...12720&csid=_28

We recommend the Viewcast Osprey 210 PCI Video Capture Card to people who don't want to stream live video with just a webcam or USB device.

It can take pretty much anything you put into it, from a HandyCam to Industrial/Commerical professional video, and it's basically a plug & play.

Oh, and it's not just for streaming, it just has that advantage for our application.
