In my opinion, the scale on which they are abused now - both adult and non-adult - will force search engines to change ranking methods. They didn't just get popular in adult, but outside of it as well.

The filters you are suggesting they might implement for blogs have already been implemented for ANY spam sites long ago. What is a blog? All it does is make your links pretty and manage your content so it's the same thing as putting up a site that you seo'd by hand or a $20 script for that matter. In fact if you go search for "failure" on google and read the adwords link they'll tell you why they can't alter results like that.
