Chief of C.I.A. Tells His Staff to Back Bush

I tought the CIA job was to put together information, compile it and analyse it, without partisanship ...

At least, that is what president Carter was saying tonight in an interview...

But I forgot that you have to blindly follow King George ...

    WASHINGTON, Nov. 16 -

Porter J. Goss, the new intelligence chief, has told Central Intelligence Agency employees that their job is to "support the administration and its policies in our work,'' a copy of an internal memorandum shows.

"As agency employees we do not identify with, support or champion opposition to the administration or its policies," Mr. Goss said in the memorandum, which was circulated late on Monday. He said in the document that he was seeking "to clarify beyond doubt the rules of the road."

So, if the president says that Timbuktu has WMD, the CIA will provide the proof as requested ....

You guys are not even on the right, you are on the facist end....

I know that Asspimple is stoopid ... As he says, it is a FACT !

But I can't figure out how he can breathe or type , at the same time ....

That really should be worrying the whole population.

See, Bush's fault is that now when he tries to go into other countries that he WILL need support in, and normally other countries would support him - I don't think they will now.

I'm curious, what exactly would Bush have to do in order for you to question his actions? I'm really starting to believe you would have no problem with a complete dictatorship.

The CIA has been required to support Administration Policies since there has been a CIA. There is absolutely nothing new here. They have simply been reminded of that fact.

They are basically in the same shoes as military officers. They too are required to support Administration Policies.

I question many of his policies. I am not a fan of President Bush. I would have a major problem with a dictatorship..."complete" or otherwise and would physically fight against same. This President has yet to breach his oath of office or the power of his office. The Congress and/or the Court will let him know when he does...as they have done with Presidents in past history. Until that time Mr. Bush...holds the office of the Presidency...whether I like his policies or not.

As happened with Iraq, even if they did show evidence that did not support the theory it was ignored.

This is actually a lot scarier than you imagine.

The problem is the "CIVIL SERVICE" which is the administration around the goverment has to be non partisan and unbiased. Who's to say the statement by Goss would hold true in Kerry had won?

Our whole country is fucked because we put it in the hands of a man that was a coke head and the only success that he has ever had was to be born a Bush. He is a loser and he is going to be the cause of many more innocent lives being lost and he won't give a shit. i love my country very dearly and i'm very heartbroken by the way things are being run...

If the administration is espousing an immoral policy, then although it may be illegal to subvert them, it can be the moral thing to do.

As individuals they can choose to exercise their individual "moral" outrage...if they are willing to pay the consequences...the same as anyone...anywhere. In the case of the CIA and Military personell they are subject to being fired and under certain consequences...they are subject to criminal prosecution. Agents as well as Military personell are fully aware of the laws that limit their individual actions.
