Roadtrips, friends or advertise in their local papers explaining that these people owe money, naming and shaming and possibly offering a reward ;).SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60. -
There is no good way.
Remember they put you in the awkward spot to have to ask for payment when they kinda got relaxed about the debt.
You owe no courtesy, just ask for it.
"When can I expect the next payment on the money loaned you"..
Email works wonders, balls are x20 the size when we don't have to go face to face or talk on the phone.Comment

It is very amazing how friends will screw you around over a simple $50. I am not worried about those guys though, they can go fuck themselves. There are people who owe me $500 here and $800 there and $300 there that I would like to eventually get back.
If I don't get the money back, at least I get some expensive education out of it. You learn from your mistakes.Comment

Whats a good one for dollar amounts under $1,000? Are there any account set up or transaction fees or is it strictly 20%?Originally posted by DrinkingHard
We use an international collections agency, they take 20% of whatever is owed (if they collect).

Would this be legal? Like if I put an ad in the newspaper or on websites with their full name, address, telephone number, etc? Or would be be violating privacy rights?Originally posted by Newton - XXXAmigoz

I dont think you can put the bad checks up for everyone to see anymore... some places might but it is illegal. So it might also be illegal to put it in the paperOriginally posted by raulph

More than one time I have hired a PI to dig up dirt and then I told the person I would mail the info to their relatives and law enforcement if I was not paid.
Worked both times.Comment

Yes. I am in the middle of that now with one client. I keep tacking on late fees each month as well. Record every penny spent trying to collect the debt from phone calls to certified letters.Originally posted by HowlingWulf
