It's that attitude that allows them to take our freedoms. If people raised hell and demanded that our constitutional rights be protected from our own government they would listen to us. Write your representatives. Attend protests and rallies. I read somewhere that someone once said ,"People get the government they deserve." and the truth is that if we are all willing to sit by while our freedoms are stripped than we deserve it. A lot of people died so that we could have the freedoms we take for granted, and it's a disservice to their memories to let them go without a fight.

Good idea, thus George won't apply it. In addition the people that bought homes in wooded areas, may even protest against it, as it would violate the scenic beauty.

You speak truth. My congressman is probably sick of hearing from me, but if enough people stayed informed and contacted their congressman about their views, it would not be special interests groups that put politicians in office, and instead it would be the will of the people.

I watched his speech in Oregon yesterday and i remember him saying there would be some "emergency" clearing around residential areas.
