I have some fillings from when I was a kid.
I asked why.
They said,
1) Amalgams have mercury
2) They expand with hot and cold
3) They leak
4) They cause teeth to crack
5) They don't bond to teeth the way that composite fillings do.
Anyone with experience on this?

mercury is very poisonous... it's very bad to your health to have more than 2grammes of amalgams in your mouth...
