Why is the only alternative always mcDonalds or burger king for those who fail/choose to leave?

What I find funny is the fact that everyone thinks that the noobs come from working at burger king.

I quit working at a fortune500 company as the webmaster to do this fulltime.

I'd like to live at home, damn.. that would be sweet. Free cook, maid, cleaner, gardener and just leech off her. Spend all my money into playstation games and car modifications and have her worry about the bills... that would be the life!

The only downside would be that she'd be there 24/7 too..

A few years ago I "quit" the online adult biz ... did freelance work for local mainstream companies for about a year ... but quickly remembered why I dislike working for other people, even if it's doing the kind of work that i actually enjoy. Needless to say, it was a nice reminder and I quickly re-entered the online adult game ... been pretty much full time ever since

I've been doing this for 4 years. I haven't yet "made it" in porn, though I have had success in other forms of online marketing.

You ask me, I think the online adult industry profitability for the every-man is overrated. The methods of building traffic either rely on an intimate knowledge of certain types of technology and the know-how of manipulating it to turn a profit or it's a result of 'having friends in high places' who help give you a start in building traffic and setting everything up. I only know one person who built from the ground up from nothing, utilizing all of the free resources out there, but at the same time he is really good at socializing and networking. Needless to say this has benefited him greatly in setting up traffic networks.

I've been solo in this biz from the get-go, and I think that could definately be my problem. Of course, it doesn't help that I have pretty bad luck. I don't really believe in luck, but there's nothign else it can be. I'm also willing to admit that I've never been able to get into a solid groove, scaling up a method that works for me. First comes the part where 'something works' before you can multiply it and turn it into a routine.

On the other hand, it could be that my dream isn't "to make it in porn". That also could be my problem as there's a lack of passion there for the content.

In the meantime, I am trying to find an internet company to work for so I can offer what I am good at and learn how things are "properly" done from the inside out. I thought I had that opportunity when I moved down here to FL, but that turned out to be really nothing like what I know it should be.

Either way, I know posts like these are really rare, and I really hope I don't get hung out to dry by honestly answering your question.

What would happen if we could not make our money in porn anymore and had to go and get a job? What job would you do, and if you could not do it yourself who would hire you to do what for them?

Lets say Visa cuts out recurring billing, hosting companies are fined for hosting porn, billing companies are fined heavily for chargeback so the scrub is on 24/7 to the highest, and many other things that could hypothetically happen.
