My husband has just started playing this tonight...... my daughter bought it for them yesterday.... he seems to be liking it, he hasn't said a damn word for hours. LOL
BUT, my boys, ages 10 and 15, say it isn't near as good as the first one. BUT they also played it all damn day. They seem to like playing in multi-player mode better, so maybe it is better. My son-in-law (or soon to be) has already beaten it too and says it didn't come close to what he expected it to be.
I can't believe everyone plays the normal game. Nothing stood about about that in the first one even. It's multiplayer heaven though which is why I got it.
"I try to make a habit of bouncing my eyes up to the face of a beautiful woman, and often repeat “not mine” in my head or even verbally. She’s not mine. God has her set aside. She’s not mine. She’s His little girl, and she needs me to fight for her by keeping my eyes where they should be."

Hopefully the multiplayer modes will be more interesting.

i agree. i am left really bored with the gameplay. i do not like the new weapons, and the movement seems to be askew from the first one.
the levels are impressive in looks, but are not very fun to fight in. they are rather confined actually because every 3 fucking seconds i find myself falling off something.
i can't believe i waited all this time, for this steaming hot pile of shit.
and it really annoys me how every other fucking level i have to play as some stupid fucking alien. if i wanted to be a stupid fucking alien, i would buy a different game.
fucking pathetic i don't believe i paid money for this.
uhmm.. .with all the record breaking sales and hype leading up to it's release, I fully expect everyone to be disappointed with it.
Because we already know it's like the first one with a few extra things, like a couple of guns and some new baddies. Otherwise, not much different.
But all this huge hype leading up to it's release has everyone expecting to play the best thing since sliced bread (can you play sliced bread yet?)
Anyway, the expectations got raised, people played and got disappointed. If it had just been released on time and there was no huge hype... people would be loving it.

Yeah Halo is nice in multiplayer but I'm noticing that all of my buddies on xboxlive are starting to go back to playing counterstrike.
Halo is good when you have a nice buzz and don't want to play all night...But counterstrike is a game you can tuck yourself into the chair with a beer and some herb and play all night.
Counterstrike still has my vote as the best game.

I think the levels on Halo were much better. Just sitting here I can see myself saying "oh we need to go back to the snow level and kick some ass!" With Halo 2 I just don't find myself saying that.
However, my mouth was hanging open throughout the whole game. Constantly finding new cool tricks and elements. I really got a kick out of how smart the aliens were, that escalated game play for sure.
I've heard the game was meant more for multi-player play then single player. We're having a Halo 2 party tomorrow so we'll see how that goes. Should be interesting though considering nobody we're playing with has spent much time running the maps.
Halo was such a great game I really don't see how a sequel could bring shock and awe. As far as sequels are concerned, Halo 2 was a great game.
