Chicago Webmasters Get-to-gether: Blues night.
Saturday, November 13th.


First off, due to people canceling because of the Webmaster Access Show the following weekend, we don't have a bar booked for the evening. Instead, to make sure people still had somewhere fun to go and something everyone would like, I'm picking the Kingston Mines Blues Club as the meeting place. We'll see how many people show up, there were more than two dozen registered and I did not even post the registration page since people were canceling because of the date.I will be there with my girlfriend, but I'll send her packing once people start showing up since she has to get up early. The club can get a little crowded but it is very large with two long rooms of blues, I've been there plenty of times and it shouldn't be a problem getting everyone at a big table. It's loud but not too loud, you can definitely talk some business. Cover is 10-15 bucks.

There's plenty of food there, and I will be buying lots of kamikaze shots for anyone who wants to come.

Depending on how many people show up, we can decide if we'd like to stay there all night or head a few doors down to shoot pool, or hit up the punk rock bowling alley on diversey (the bar is open till 2am also).

How to get there?

If you are in Chicago obviously cabs are the easiest, or, take the Red Line or Brown Line to fullerton, go a block east to halsted and head north. It will be on the left side of the street, across from the "B.L.U.E.S." club.

If you are driving check the address on mapquest...they have valet on the weeknds, or you can park at children's memorial hospital parking garage for only 10 dollars on the weekend. Take Lake Shore Drive to Fullerton exit, there's only one way you can go on that exit (west...unless you'd like to drive into the lake), keep going for a couple miles and take a left (south) on Lincoln Ave. The hospital parking garage will be on your right side, can't miss it.
