We're tracking recent domain sales and plenty of people are interested. If you're not into it, I understand. The 1st thread (which died when gfy had the db update) had 1,100 posts with 16,000 page views in less than 3 months time.
Plenty of quality domains (mainstream & adult) are sold or expired/dropped daily.
In fact, I picked up GothSex.com yesterday, and because of GFY, I have lots of sponsors & content provider contacts to research. A few of them emailed me when they read about it in this domain thread not from my "SPAM ME w/ GOTH" thread I created right after I bought it. So this thread is definitely worth my time.
you want relevance?
I see from your sig you're with/from/own/promoting gaypornkings.com, right?
Some GFYers recently scored great expired domains like AssFucks.com & ThaiGays.com for very affordable prices, so you never know what domains are being picked up by your counterparts/competitors.
There are plenty of gfy-ers who are successful in the domain industry as well as the adult industry. This thread is more relevant and worthy than you can understand from just passing through. If you don't care, don't have the time, or already have mastered the domain game, then congrats... just remember to skip this thread in the future. However, if you're interested in learning more, check out the links in the first post of this thread.
Anyone having any problems with enom? I received emails stating I was in a private auction for a domain yesterday, but there is still no link posted to any auction from within my club drop account.
"WTF, on google you can find the answer to every question in human history, EXCEPT how to convert cams..

They changed the format. There is no longer a link through the "My Club Drop List" page.
You have to manually select Auctions from the left hand menu, or just use this bookmark:
Enom has also changed the way the auctions list looks. I was confused at first, until I realized I can now sort by auction type (pub/prv), auction date, or auction name. Good improvements, IMHO.
There is also a new column in the auction lists for "Buy-now price" although I am not sure how this will be utilized. Will be interesting to see what this will be for.

I have a whole heap of domains I am either sitting on or are future projects. But one I have had listed at SEDO has had 2 parties contact me this week seeking my asking price.
Domain is infestations.info
Taboo, how the hell do you guys even work out what a domain is worth? Should you give the buyer a price or ask for an offer from them ?
Not sure I want to let this one go, but I am getting interest so no hurt in asking.

if you have time, visit links and contact people to see if they'd be interested in making a bid or to be included in private auction, etc.
if you check out the sales archive at www.dnjournal.com, you'll see what other .infos have sold for.
good luck.
Wow .. good advice.
And I am impressed how much some .info's are selling for. Given that I don't have the time to mess with contacting people etc, i might just wait for a good offer. I am expecting a few offers from people who contacted me, so I might let it go for low 4's or even high 3 figures. I might even get it appraised.
Also noticed infection.com went for almost $30,000.
Originally posted by Sausage I might even get it appraised.
only get it appraised if you trust the company/people. but it's not necessary. sometimes appraisals are not even worth a penny. appraise it yourself. if you want to make 10/100/1000 times what you paid for it, then don't accept less.
WARNING:
if a buyer "requires" you to get an appraisal, DON'T. they are usually working with the companies they recommend and not interested in buying your domain name, just selling worthless appraisals.
Erections.com went for $18k. Chris Chena and I had gone partners on this, and had worked for a month trying to convince the drug companies to buy big.
Pfizer, Elli Lilly and Bayer all had serious interest, even to point of having political infighting between the executive level, the brand managers and the ad agencies that handle their erection drugs.
Ultimately, all backed away from the name because of sensitivity around the name, despite the fact that what they sell is "erections" and what they bid on in Google and Overture is "erections" LOL
Long, boring story.
Anyway, there's a bigger story coming with them and us, but in the meantime, we did pretty good for a name with fairly low traffic (but lucrative niche).

Once again congrats. Good story too. They are crazy... they are selling BONERS but afraid of owning Erections.com - LOL.
Is DNJ going to have full story tonight?
Glad I'm getting some insight into the mainstream sex industry because I think I may have similar problems with companies next year with my newly acquired domain "SexPatch.com"... P&G's new patch (intrinsa) just got approved and on fast track to market. I just bought the name yesterday from Afternic/BuyDomains.
Originally posted by paxton Nice to see a spanish domain go for 4 figures. I have a few spanish domains myself that I'm hoping will be worth a bit in the future.
Last week I bought JuegosEroticos.com (erotic games) for 2300 U$S, it has 300-420 daily type-ins, I think it's a very good name.
I am always interested in buying spanish domains, so, if you are in the mood, email me at [email protected] to discuss about your spanish names.
A bunch of 4 digit dot coms dropping recently, seems that prices are coming down a bit now. The ones starting with "0" didn't get much interest at Enom.
* I said I was done acquiring these, but I recently traded some of mine off in exchange for some 3-digit domains. So I may be in the market for a few more.

I think the Alexa ranking (which isn't the best indicator anyway) you are seeing factors in stats before the site started redirecting to firehotquotes.bolt.com - which is much higher ranked.
