I just heard explosions far off and a fighter jet just roared right over my head in the direction of the explosions.
I heard at least 10 big bangs and it was not no fireworks!!

actually, I believe you would hear the boom first, since it is the speed of sound, and they could have slowed down by the time they got to you.
