Ok, let's say I have an unlocked domain and someone attempts to transfer it, and I don't reply within 5 days....then I lose the domain for good and I won't be posible to take any action against the hijacker later?
Serious DRAMA - possible breaking news - have you heard?

You'd still have legal recourse obviously but what a pain in the ass that would be, never mind the cost.originally posted by polish_aristocrat

If ICANN couldn't be bothered to do anything about people messed about by Networksolutions, imagine it in a few days time.Comment

These types of transfers (.org, .biz, .us, etc.) would also require EPP code authentication, giving the domain owner an additional layer of protection.Originally posted by Nat
keep in mind that org and biz can't be locked....

Hey gang,
A lot of you are emailing and IMing me about this so I thought I would let you know where Moniker.com stands on this.
We are treating all transfer out requests as fraud unless we have heard from you - to protect your domains here. Besides locking all of your domains by default, I and my staff look at each transfer out request and make sure it was authorized. We have yet to loose one name due to this high security policy.
I would get your names over to Moniker.com if you have any concerns about how your registrar will handle this...because most are not handling it......
Just email me if you have any questions or if I can help you consolidate at Moniker.com - [email protected]Comment

I got this message too. I don't trust GoDaddy and believe there must be something in it for them(retaining customers maybe?).
From Icann's website:
2.1 Obtain express authorization from either the Registered Name Holder or the Administrative Contact (hereafter, "Transfer Contact"). Hence, a transfer may only proceed if confirmation of the transfer is received by the Gaining Registrar from the Transfer Contact.
Suggests to me scare tactics and BS from GoDaddy again. I could be wrong, this is just my opinion, but I won't be making any changes to my domains.

We use bulkregister.com and they lock everything by default.SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60. Let me repeat... A 120 x 60 button and no more that 3 lines of DEFAULT SIZE AND COLOR text.Comment
