Everyone should be a little worried. If TCG didn't know our acount who knows what would have happend.

Just letting all the Program Owners who pay webmaster thru epassport to double check when someone is trying to switch from checking to epassporte.

ePassporte, just as with PayPal, allows you to move money to someone with simply a username (or with PayPal, an email address).

This is why it is important to know your affiliates. Just as Visa has the know your customer rule, you should know your affiliates.

Nice catch on the part of TCG.

Oh, but wait, pre-checked cross-sells and trials that need to be cancelled 24 hours before end of trial or else they rebill aren't meant to trick the consumer into rebilling, are they.

Don't worry, it's nothing personal, I think the practices of lightspeedcash, Adult.com, Top Bucks, and the rest of the crowd who use these tricks, to be equally scummy.

And what the hell do I mean, tricking the consumer...geez...it's common sense to read the first 200 to 500 words of the small T & C's to find out about the trial cancellation policy, right? No way in hell that is designed to trick people, is it?

Yes, I did. Time for you to search through the archives. We went through this before. And, yes, it is easy to cancel, IF you cancel 24 hours prior. But that's the rub, isn't it.

And thanks for the concern, but I do just fine. I just won't come down to your level to make my money. Pornography = great, Having to use smoke and mirrors to make money = scum.

The one day trial is a tough one...but still works in the program's favour. But, to be honest, I don't find it to be quite as "smokey" as the rest.

And how does it work in the program owner's favour, you ask. Well, ask a consumer what a one day trial means to them. Chances are, they will say 24 hours. And, this may be the case with your program, but most I've tested consider a one day trial to end at midnight, on the day of sign-up. So, when the surfer signs up at 10:00 P.M., they are not going to expect that the trial will be over in 2 hours, and then rebilling.

Plus, throw in some cross-sells, which I do know your program is fond of using. Then, there's a whole new angle. Does the consumer just need to cancel the main membership, or each individually. We know that it's a case of "individually"...

My point is, anyone that tries to claim that all these things aren't in place to try and confuse the consumer, is absolutely full of shit.

we also have 1 hour free trial and people can cancel.

there must be a good reason why epoch has that verbiage there maybe its to detour fraudulant surfers.

Again discounting the use of a good legal team. Yes, you have the trial clause in your terms and conditions. So, yes, it is legal. But, do you have in legible print on your order form " Trial Rebills if not cancelled 24 hours before end of trial". Nope..you don't.

So, legal, yes....ethical..not in a long shot.

that is what worries me the most about this...

no program should ever let someone change ANYTHING without making a secure request from the affiliates members area...and if you don't have a secure form within the members area for affiliates, then you're doing something wrong...get it now!

And I am willing to eat humble pie. I will once again try a sign-up through your program or another through epoch. And, I will wait until the end of trial...ie. if it says 3 days, I will wait unti the thrird day. Maybe things have changed. If so, great.

On a side note... Do I know what I am talking about? You bet. In the past month alone I have discovered bugs in 3 of the adult industries largest programs, and a smaller one..and provided the support team with the details needed to fix them.

And, as you already know, before I even consider a program, I sign-up and run it through the mill. With 11 active memberships right now, believe me, even I don't need that much porn for self stimulation. (You might remember me from 2 years ago...when I signed up for your program, And then quickly sent you an email, to ensure that the sign-up wasn't credited to my acoount).

Just a couple of notes to ensure you... I am not talking out of my ass.

That is why I always insist on user name and first 3 characters of their password before I make any changes to affiliates info. Sometimes affiliates ask why I insist upoin this, but this is why.

I'm not sure how Lightspeedcash got thrown into this discussion, since we don't have trials, or use prechecked crosssells, and our member can cancel anytime right up to his rebill HOUR. (I think the CCBill standard TOS says they need to notify us with 24 hours to spare, but they can use our (or ccbill's) automated cancel forms any time.

We have always focused on a positive surfer experience. We treat our surfers, members, affiliates, vendors, employees, models, and friends like GOLD. We know these people are the lifeblood of our business, we're not going to fuck any of them over.

I'd appreciate you having your facts straight before you include Lightspeedcash in a bashing thread next time.
