How to burn DivX on DVDRs for DVD players?

How can I burn DivX files to DVDRs so they play on non-DivX compatible DVD players?

have to be careful---I spent a lot of time (wasted) on this...
(it does take WAY too fucking long)

Not all players will play your disks---depends upon the disk, burn format, etc...etc...

You have a better chance of moving your PC into your living room and hooking it up to your TV and sound system...

I have my laptop hooked up, but the colors show up very pale on the televsion, even with the colors turned up all the way. They play very good on the laptop, and the normal television shows are great in color, but the laptop movies (or whatever is on my laptop screen) shows very pale on TV. Connected through Svideo.

            Philips DVP642 69$

            Can play:

            Divx/Xvid/Mpeg
DVD, Video CD, SVCD, DVD+RW, CD, CDR, Jpg, MP3

If you upgrade it, will play asf/wmv/RM

Just copy 5 or 6 Divx on a blank DVD and you can play them directly in the player ;)
