    Why is web design for porn much cheaper then mainstream?

    Why is web design/development for porn much cheaper then mainstream?

    I just finish two basic Wordpress business site at 500.00 a piece.

    I doubt that anyone in porn would pay that much.

          We've billed out almost $175k since Jan 1. I don't think there are too many porn designers pulling in that much.

              I also own a mainstream web dev shop with a team of about 15 full time employees... You are right. It's crazy how cheap porn is. I'm just starting to incorporate some of my new contacts.

                  - Because of nature of designs....porn designs are easier to be made, there are a lot of designers (from newbies to masters) and adultwebmaster could pay to such a designer, but mainstream bussinesman - I doubt...

                                      Also, mainstream they take a design and show their wives, husbands, aunts, uncles, friends... Everyone gets to criticize every design... So you spend hours and hours redoing.

                                          LOL...never thought about it like that.

                                          I think mainstream designed are coming down. Check out your local Craig's List, guys on there designing for peanuts. Plus so many people post, "I want a full flash site with shopping cart, but I only want to pay $300." I bet they still get a lot of emails from companies/freelancers that will do it for that.

                                              most of which are people based out of eastern asia and will butcher the english on the design and provide 0 support

                                                  I don't agree with the O.P he's being too general.

                                                  Lots of small details to be considered.

                                                  You really can't compare mainstream to adult.

                                                  I see lots of REALLY cheap design being done in mainstream and adult.

                                                  Adult is just as likely to pay big bucks as mainstream they are just more picky about it.

                                                  Also people in Adult are much more "sly" at business and making deals.

                                                      I would say 1/2 our clients are Armchair Web Developers. Dealing with idiots is the biggest drawback with mainstream.

                                                              I think there are a lot more people in online adult who "know a guy" who can whip something up for a few bucks. Not neccessarily something good, but at least something. A mainstream company has to tell someone to build a project and hire someone to spec and fulfill a budget, etc etc. They're not as likely to recommend their brother or nephew to whip something up for the mainstream job.

                                                                  I am gonna concentrate on doing more mainstream sites. I just got another account for 999.00 for a regular theme wordpress site.

                                                                  They were amazed when I showed them that they can update their own site.

                                                                  Porn plus mainstrean cash equals some nice change in the pocket.
