Actually depends when you bought your original xbox. Did you know the first batch that came out actually had internal fans, but v1.1 of the xbox which was released a few months later had heatsyncs instead?

The lens on the disk player is getting bad and I doubt it will last 6 months more.
So for 249$ Canadian, the system I posted is a hell of a deal.
I sell my Xbox for 100$ with 1 fat controller.
I sell Fable ( 40$) and Crimson Skies for (15$)
and I just got a new system with a controller for 100$

There is this company called Colorware that can either sell you consoles that are different colors or could color one that you send in. The problem is that they are quite expensive. I'd personally wait until the XBox 2 comes out and not worry about getting an XBox now. The last I've heard the XBox 2 was supposed to be a suprise at the E3 conference in January but knowing Mickeysoft I don't know if that date should be believeable. I was reading that they are having problems retaining their backwards compatability on the XBox 2 with XBox games. Anyway, the site for Colorware is http://www.colorwarepc.com/products/select_console.aspx I chose a cheaper solution and got myself a nice decal for my PS2. Head on over to Decal Girl (http://www.decalgirl.com) and check out their selection.Comment

The reason it was such an issue is because for Xbox 2, Microsoft have ditched nvidia and are going with ATI for the graphics, and i think they ditched Intel as well. Which basically means that alot of the new hardware might find it difficult to emulate the old hardware for the old games. Maybe anyway.
And yeah, they say it will be viewable at the CES in early January.Comment

Yeah that's exactly the problem. They dumped NVidia and Intel and now they are going with an ATI/PPC combo. I'm not suprised they are going to have problems with backward compatability. Since the only way they would be able to remain backwards compatible is with an XBox emulator running on the XBox 2 they are seriously considering dropping backwards compatability because of speed issues.
